So I had some extra brine left over from my girlfriends nicoise olives and some left over figs. Ive seen people brine things like blue berries and cranberries in olive brine before. I havent however seen anyone making olive brined figs. I havent decided if there is a reason for that or not yet. My girlfriend tried one and decided that she didn't like it. I tried it and decided that it tasted like a fig brined like an olive. I have one more guinea pig who should be comming home soon and I'll have her try them. But i just wanted to put this up to show that somethings even though they can sound kinda cool may be crap in the end and failure, for me at least, is an everyday part of cooking. Its the everyday small failures that make you stronger, smarter, and better in the end.
