So if you check in here periodically to see what I have been up to you will have noticed that I have been away for a long time. I graduate on December 20th and school has been keeping me very busy. So I haven't had that much time to spare for cooking anything interesting. I did buy a book recently that I really recommend. Its one by Michel Bras and it contains 90 recipes of desserts. Hopefully I'll be back soon. Ive been making Cherry-Whisky Vinegar and I believe that its almost done so I should be able to share that soon. For now heres a picture of the mushrooms I've been working on. These are some of the small oyster mushrooms that I grew and they have been pickled in rice vinegar, soy sauce, siracha, and garlic. They really pack a punch. They are spicy, slightly salty and really explode with flavor when you eat them. As you can see these really picked up alot of color from the soy sauce(they were white when they started).
Hey Billy! I just got around to looking at your blog, it rocks. I enjoyed seeing the conjoined eggplant from BVO in one of your pictures. I've left the farm, my internship ended in the last week of November. i've since taken an internship at a non-profit in DC centerforfoodsafety.org Surpise! And all this time i thought i was going to be heading to NYC. plans change! I'm really liked visiting DC in Dec though, so i'm excited to be heading down there at the end of this month. Cheers, Carly
P.S. Been working for plates much more?
